Are we really alone?

In 1980 soldiers from the US Army reported seeing a UFO in Rendlesham Forest. Does this mean there are aliens in Suffolk or were the soldiers mistaken? Come learn about this intriguing historical event through arts-and-crafts. Using a combination of collage and paint, Katy will guide you to think about what was really in the woods that night back in 1980 and ask, are we really alone?

This session focuses on an unsolved mystery from the past to explore the boundary between history and conspiracy in a fun and engaging way that explores local history and helps foster children's critical thinking. And they get to take their artistic creation home with them at the end!

Katy Wallace is a history educator with 15 years experience working, an artist and a history education researcher with a PhD. Katy is the founder of Crafting History which is focused on using arts-and-crafts and creativity to teach history and help people engage with the past. We can all craft the past.
