Frankie's Studio

Frankie is a ceramic artist based in East Anglia, working between her studio in Ardleigh, Essex and her shops and cafés in Suffolk. Her work is inspired by the colours, textures, and changing landscape of the surrounding countryside, with a creative approach that is both intuitive and expressive.

With a background in art and design, Frankie studied in London at Camberwell and Chelsea Colleges of Art before completing her BA (Hons) at the University of the Arts London. In 2025, she further developed her practice by completing a Master’s at the Royal College of Art, bringing new depth and direction to her work and the spaces she has created.

In 2020, Frankie established her studio in Ardleigh, a fully equipped creative space for hand-building, wheel throwing, glazing, and firing. The studio has grown into a hub for learning and creativity, where shelves are filled with work from Frankie, her students, and visiting makers. Through workshops and short courses, she has shared her passion for ceramics with both adults and children, creating a welcoming environment for people to explore their creativity.

Building on this foundation, Frankie opened her first  lifestyle shop in Hadleigh, Suffolk in 2022. This was followed by the opening of a second location in Grundisburgh, expanding the Frankie’s offering into two beautifully curated cafés and shops. Each space brings together handmade ceramics, and a relaxed café experience, designed to inspire and bring people together.

Across all locations, Frankie’s is about more than just shopping or making, it’s about experience. Visitors can discover original ceramic pieces, from signature scalloped plates and candlesticks to mugs, berry bowls, and larger statement works, alongside a changing collection of homewares, textiles, and a unique well stocked pantry full of store cupboard treats.

A small and passionate team helps bring Frankie’s vision to life, supporting a programme of workshops, events, and private hire experiences. From pottery and creative sessions to gatherings, food events, and seasonal experiences, each space is designed to encourage connection, creativity, and a sense of community.

Whether you’re visiting the studio in Ardleigh, exploring the shops in Hadleigh or Grundisburgh, or taking part in a workshop, Frankie’s offers a place to slow down, get inspired, and discover something meaningful.
